Visiting Researchers

In July and August 2024, CinTurs hosted visiting researchers Professors Marco Garrido Cumbrera and Olta Braçe from the University of Seville, Spain, who worked on the topic of "Exploring the Algarve as a Health Tourism Destination" in the field of "Health and Wellbeing Tourism", an emerging area of research with high economic and social impact.

New on Board

Dr Ngoni Courage Shereni has joined CinTurs with a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship on "Tourism, climate change adaptation and collaborative natural resource management practices in communities living near protected areas". Read more.

PhD Defense

CinTurs’ researcher, Hilal Akdemir, with an FCT/ CinTurs doctoral scholarship, defended her thesis in Tourism at the School of Economics of the University of Algarve with the theme "The Role of Creative Tourism in Tackling Social Exclusion among Older Artisans: The Case of Loulé Criativo", which was approved with Very Good, with Distinction and Praise.
