Jorge Ramos, Hilal Akdemir and Carina Jesus, CinTurs researchers, participated in the Science Meeting 2023, held in Aveiro, from 5 to 7 July. The meeting, promoted by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), had the theme “Science and Ocean beyond the horizon”. The meeting brought together several hundred researchers developing projects in Portuguese universities and their research centres, public institutes, collaborations, spin-offs and other entities related to the science carried out in Portugal. A new UAlg research project has been approved under the Interreg Atlantic Area Programme "DIBEST - Digital Innovation for Blue Enterprises & Social Tourism", with CinTurs researchers Ana Rita Cruz and Neil Ormerod as members of the research team.
On 11 July took place the webinar "Community-based narratives and public engagement for cultural and historical conservation: Development of a virtual road map" with Prof. Chan Chung-shing (Johnson) from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. Read more.
Ana Cláudia Campos, CinTurs researcher, presented a study on storytelling in the heritage experience, carried out with Manuela Guerreiro (CinTurs) and Meghan Beevor, at the 8th International Conference on Tourism and Leisure Studies in Granada, Spain. Read more.
A group of CinTurs researchers attended the 10th Advances in Hospitality & Tourism Marketing and Management (AHTMM) Conference, held in Italy at Sapienza University of Rome, from 3 to 7 July 2023. Results from the RESTUR and TurExperience projects were presented, as well as ongoing PhD theses by students funded by CinTurs/FCT. Read more .
