Lecture

CinTurs' researchers Manuela Guerreiro and Patrícia Pinto were guest speakers at the seminar "Social Innovation in Tourism: Empowering Communities, Transforming Territories", held at Ca' Foscari University in Venice, Italy. The presentation, 'Geoheritage and Geotourism: Insights from a Geopark Context', was part of a series of seminars organised as part of the Young Researchers project, 'Sustainable Business Models for Tourism with a Culture-Based Approach'. Read more.

Pint of Science

CinTurs took part in the annual science festival Pint of Science, which aims to communicate contemporary scientific developments to the public. Scientists are brought to pubs, cafés and other public places to share their research and findings through relaxed conversations about science, making it accessible to all. Manuela Rosa, a researcher at CinTurs, presented the research ‘Collaborative bus stop design – the tourists’ point of view’ at the ‘Accessible Faro’ session. The event took place in Faro from 19 to 21 May. Read more.

AHTMM Conference

CinTurs and the School of Economics of the University of Algarve host the 12th Advances in Hospitality and Tourism Marketing and Management (AHTMM) from 30 June to 4 July 2025. The conference provides a unique forum for attendees from academia, industry, government, and other organisations to actively exchange, share, and challenge state-of-the-art research and industrial case studies on hospitality and tourism marketing and management..​  Read more.

DSOTT Conference

Sílvia Fernandes chaired the session ‘Internet of Things in Tourism Trends and Challenges’ at the DSOTT 2025 - Diversity & Sustainability: Opportunities and Threats on Tourism, where Jorge Ramos, who is also a CinTurs researcher, has presented the paper ’IoT: How AIS signals analyzed in GIS can be useful in the management of nautical tourism and leisure activities ‘. The conference took place in Coimbra from 4-6 June, 2025.  Read more  .
